Note: Even if No Snow Emergency Phase is in effect all snow and ice must be removed from from sidewalks within 24 hours of the end of snow fall.

The borough will notify the public about Snow Emergency plans through
the following radio and television channels.

Snow Emergency Phase I - Under Phase I, No Parking is allowed on any borough street until the snow has been removed from the streets curb to curb.  All snow and ice must be removed from sidewalks within 24 hours of the end of snow fall.  All vehicles operated on streets must have either snow tires, chains/cables or all weather tires

Snow Emergency Phase II: - Under Phase II, No motor vehicles are allowed on borough streets including state roads and road dedicated to public use including those not yet dedicated by the borough council. All fire, police, ambulance or emergency vehicles are exempt from this exclusion. Also Personnel in personal vehicles are exempt as long as they are traveling to/from in due course with their positions associated with fire, police, ambulance or emergency services. 

Any vehicle parked or abandoned or otherwise left on a borough street will be towed to a spot designated by the borough. All charges for towing/storage shall be the responsibility of the vehicle owner. Any vehicle operated in violation of Phase II shall be sentenced to a fine of $100.

New Law: Effective January 1st: If you must use your windshield wipers to remove snow and ice, then you must also have your vehicles headlights turned on.
