Large Item/Bulk Trash:
Every household located in Stewartstown Borough may place one single
large item or bulk item out with their trash on the Friday pickup. Please note
that the one bulk item, replaces a bag or can that you typically would be allowed
to place at the curb.
Note: Any item that contains FREON requires special handling.
You should not remove the Freon, but, should contact York Waste at
1-800-210-9675 to arrange for a separate pick-up. There is no charge for this
service and they will make all of the necessary arrangements.
Recycling:
Recycle bins should be placed along the curb on Tuesday mornings along with
your regular trash. A separate truck will pickup your recyclable materials.
Note: Recycle Bins are available at the borough office FREE of charge. We ask
that you put your house number and apartment number on the recycle bins.

Grants:
The borough receives a grant each year based upon the percentage of trash
that is recycled.
These grants help pay for the recycling bins and for the new recycling magnets
that everyone should have received in December October 2005. Additional magnets
are available like shown above at the borough office.
